Watching YouA Poem by queenbattylivA girl watches from the sidelines as the boy she loves falls for her sister.
Watching you hold her,
In your everlasting arms of love, Watching you caress her, With the delicate touch of a dove, Watching you kiss her, Lips begging for more, Watching you love her, And I can't shut this door. I remember the times, We laughed and joked, As friends, not anything more, But my love was provoked, I followed you, As a dog to his master, You enveloped me in kindness, Death would have been faster. I remember the day, You told me no, I cried when you said, Your sister, I love her so, Heartbroken, wrung like a wet dishrag, I retreated to my bed, Hoping to banish all thoughts of you, But the loving thoughts would not leave my head. I remember those days, The pain and sorrow, I walked, hands over my chest, Keeping my heart inside, hoping for tomorrow, But it would not come, And I spent many a day, Make-up running down my cheeks, With the tears where they lay. I remember the day, I realized it would not get any better, I knew then I could never be over you, We were meant to be, yet my cheeks could not get any wetter, I sat alone in the shadows, Feeling your light as a feather invisible touch alight on my cheekbone, Seeing you with sharp eagle eyes, So here I stand, watching you and alone. Watching you hold her, My heart hammers madly, Watching you caress her, It thumps sadly, Watching you kiss her, How she loves you so, Watching you love her, I'll never let you go.
