On With the Show

On With the Show

A Poem by Jenny
"

Not actually talking about theatre.

"

From the start to curtain-call
Your verses travel through the hall
Doing the deed for the sake of the act
Oh, such audiences you’ll attract

You’ve got your fair share of the scars
From forgetting your lines as they’re raising the bars
Improv. never really looked good on you
Fumble the fourth line, right on cue.

You’re familiar with the details of every stage prop
Know what to do when all things drop
Never really mattered much
As long as you had the magic touch

From the start to curtain-call
Your verses travel through the hall
Doing the deed for the sake of the act
Oh, such audiences you’ll attract

Never liked to be put on the spot
Rather rehearse than perform on the dot
Backstage you just ask the crew
But center stage, the spot’s on you

Round of applause, standing ovation
And you’re the biggest hot shot in the business and nation
Stealing the show, you’re a natural at theft
Take a deep bow and exit, stage left

From the start to curtain-call
Your verses travel through the hall
Doing the deed for the sake of the act
Oh, such audiences you’ll attract

I'm a girl, of course, and I play on the side of the fence that doesn't have balls. (Which makes the game a lot less painful and a lot more complicated.) I have a rat named Parsley, a cat named Little.. more..
