We Are

We Are

A Poem by J.e.s.s.i.c.a

We are the voices in the background

The footsteps on the floor.

The people all around you

You do your best to ignore.

We are the broken of this generation.

We are the wounded.

We are the forgotten of this generation.

We are the unheard.

We are the homeless and the hungry

The beaten and abused.

Reaching out for love now,

Why do you refuse?

If we’re just a crowd of outcasts

Where can we belong?

If we never put up a fight

Then how can we be wrong?

If we sit in stifled silence,

How much noise can there be?

If no one ever listens,

Well then nobody will see that:

We are the broken of this generation.

We are the wounded.

We are the forgotten of this generation.

We are the unheard.

We are standing up for this generation.

Together we will rise.

We will not forget this generation.

We will be heard.

This is a good anthem. I could almost hear a melody in my head while I was reading it.
Your images are really good too.
