My Night

These tears
In the corners of my eyes
Only fall if I let them

This heart
Behind lung-trapped air
Only falls when I know
It’s there
Inside

So I won’t close my eyes
I must watch
I must fight, or else
All I have might die

Stay awake
Do not break
I won’t let the daylight
Take my night away
