Empty EyesA Poem by Chaosmode1Written after my divorce
"I will always love you" she said, as she hastened out the door,
"but this just isn't working, I am looking for much more." LOVE I wondered, as I began to grieve; if she loved me all that much, how could she just leave? She took all of her things, and left me all of mine, and then she left me hanging, with my heart out on a line. I tried hard not to miss her, but silence began to swell, and friends began to ask me if I wasn't feeling well. They say you don't change colors, when you're feeling blue But if you don't change I wondered, how come they all knew? As the tears flowed freely, I walk the vacant home And try to stop the sadness by writing down this poem Now the house is silent, and echoes my footfalls and mocks the way it used to be with it's barren walls I've moved to an apartment, much reduced in size and wander 'round it's lonely rooms, behind my empty eyes. © 2014 Chaosmode1Author's Note
