The Stone

The Stone

A Poem by Phoenix Wolf-ray
"

a poem about a stone. That's all.

"

I asked a

stone on my path

for advice

I didn't know

which way to go

I asked it for

instruction

for direction,

for wisdom.

The stone said,

"No."

I asked, "Why?

Why will you not

respond to my plea?"

The stone said,

"Look, look at me,

tell me what you see."

I said, "I see

a stone."

The stone said, "Well?"

I said,

"Oh."
