I heard there was a castle by a faraway sea,
That stood untouched by time or space,
(Or anything else man has dreamt up).
And when you stood within those swelling walls,
There was no force, no evil,
That could ever hope to lay its claws on you and rend you from yourself.
That castle fell through, and its stones are now ash or ruble beneath a trembling ocean.
Its particles floating through water and air,
To make it back to you, fly down your throat or land in your ham sandwich.
And we walk about, imagining it in our quivering hearts,
Its walls ever about our flinching frightened ears,
Until the cannons roar with glorious thunder and our pale eyes close.
