STILL HERE

STILL HERE

A Poem by P

I’m still here,

sitting in complete darkness, reflecting, recollecting the memories

Despair would have me swallowed,
Those I thought were friends unveiled to be frenemies

and now this heart that pumps weakly grows more hollow

They tell me to stop thinking about you,

but I have 7 years and 2,555 reasons why I can’t
If only life worked the same way a computer did so I could select undue

I’m having to accept this nightmare as a reality

I just want you to be happy, whatever that looks like -

with or without me, just promise me one thing

Don’t ever forget
