When Will He Carry me Again?A Poem by IamDaleI love my dad so much :) I miss the old timesI remember how he'd speak for me When I can't open the zipper of my mouth. I remember how he'd toss me up in the air, So I could see that flying was not for birds alone. I witnessed how he showered his love for me, Everyday and in every hug. His feet so swollen, he dare not frown. When I looked at him, he's all smiles. All for you my boy, he said to me. Not a single wound nor sweat would make him stop. All day long, he worked and sweat was not a new word to him. He thought of us, he thought of our lives in the future. Now, I not a young boy anymore. Now that I can speak well and can move. How I destroyed your days with my complaints. How my troubles would put all the tears in your eyes. How you were hurt triple times when I caught pain. Oh, father, sorry I truly am for not showing you. The love someone like you deserves. A father not to my need but to my whole being. You propelled me to greater heights all my life. I meant the world to you but I never showed you, How you meant the same to me. I showed you how ungrateful I can be each day. I was not the son you raised me to be and for that, I long for your forgiveness. Oh how I wish I was still four, When I thought the couch was my bed. The way you gently put me into your arms, And`carried me into my room, how you whispered, I LOVE YOU :)
