One Wish

One Wish

 

if I could wish

and the wish would come true

I would wish a bright star would come

and dance with me.

 

or I would wish that

a thousand dogs

and a thousand cats

would want to be my friend.

 

if I could have one tiny wish

I would wish that

my cat

would live as long as me.

 

if I could wish

I could change the world.

so I'm glad I can't.

this really is a beautiful thing to wish, i love poetry about stars and this is such a lovely image, wonderfully imaginative. i'd like my dog to live forever too. this is inspirational work, a delight.
