The Fox

The Fox

A Poem by purringfeline
"

imagine this happens in deathly silence

"

The Fox

silently

on padded paws

the fox

slips into the garden

cautiously

with wary eyes

the fox

surveys the hutch

forcefully

a blow landed by

the fox

onto the tight lock

imediately

with the loudest bang

the rabbit

thumps in alarm

and the fox runs into the night.

oh, i can just imagine the silence and the poor rabbit with its heart beating in its mouth so frightened of the fox. i liked how you used adverbs at the start of each stanza, they created impact and the way you let the last line stand on its own- (that was brave!). fantastic.
