Faces in the Windows

Faces in the Windows

A Chapter by LynLee

Another boring day in band.

Us flutes had to have a private lesson with the assistant teacher.

We come out early and have to wait in the testing room.

The doors have windows and I decide to watch the rest of the band play.

Sitting in my section are the alto saxophones.

Sitting in my seat is third saxophone.

I get bored and decide to press my face against the window.

I really didn't know that my nose was sticking up.

First clarinet notices and starts making faces at me.

I realize what is happening and make faces back.

She makes a pig face at me and I give one back,

little did I know,

he was watching.

Embarrassed out of my mind,

I sink down to where they can't see me.

When I here them playing again

I look up to see that it was only french horns and sax playing.

I look over and see him staring at me.

Those big brown eyes drawing me in.

I can't look away,

even when I see first clarinetist making faces at me again.

Feeling my cheeks fill up with red,

and him noticing,

he sticks his tongue out at me,

and blushes even redder than me.
