Band Class

Band Class

A Chapter by LynLee

My friends basically leave.

I still sit with them,

there just,

not there.

I am forced to pull a chair,

a stand and pick up my music from the ground.

All with a fractured foot.

Thanks, friends.

I start to really consider if there my friends.

They seem to forget I'm even there.

I get too lonely too fast.

I really am considering whether there my

real friends.

As they are talking to there other clarinetist,

I sit there with my head down.

Breathing into my flute to keep it warm.

I start to get a little teary as I hear them talking about me.

When I'm sitting right there.

He notices this.

He starts talking,

and it takes me a while to notice,

he's talking to me!

Embarrassed I start to play a song.

He starts playing in tune with me.

Even though he is also a clarinet,

he doesn't seem to care.

All he cares about,

is that I have a smile on my face.
