A Pacivist's View

A Pacivist's View

A Poem by Kt

my cousin in Iraq
a killer in my mind
a hero in their hearts
home for a month
then back to the war

never talked when home
or overseas
doesn't matter much to me
where he sleeps at night
but I can see his soul on the line

I looked into his eyes
on Christmas Eve
for a second I saw his soul
disappeared in the sand
shrapnel, bodies, guns

fame, heroic slumber

Pacificism is an ideal. But sometimes one is forced to fight to defend ones ideals
