A Poem by purpleman17

The nausea sets in when the sun sets

tunnel vision is the present page in my history book

minimum keeps these bills close enough to want to choke

I need a break but I'm already broken

the chosen one whose sun is frozen but heart stays golden

what does freedom cost when you're a slave to society's blueprint?

are dreams just the carrot dangling from a string?

if so, I'll be the monkey in the middle because strings are meant to fray

there's no elixir just a quick fixer when pain is felt

they don't tell in time that it will make your brain melt

soon you won't feel anything

but what are memories if we can't remember them?
