The Secret

The Secret

A Poem by Polly Taylor

A whisper of knowledge
lays lodged in my throat
shattering truths-
tickle prised lips

A ghost, a memory
A betrayal once known
Deters the secret
from leaking off my tongue

Where do the loyalties lie?
When there is no 'home'

Your secret is mine

and there is no one truth

from leaking off my tongue"
