1970's VintageA Poem by Polly Taylor
“Faux fur”- well that doesn’t count!
“Darling, you know nothing of luxury,”
Soft and heavy, encapsulated within.
I wear my cloak of armour
To ward off all that casts fear
In this coat of mine- I maybe
Whoever I should desire to be
I feel queen like, almost famous
The silk lining cascading my curves
Emphasizing my womanly virtues
All the while, exaggerating, epitomizing elucidating
The lady beneath the sheath
“…let me sample this so called lustrous treat!”
“ Well I couldn’t possibly- you’ve offended her now,” © 2008 Polly Taylor |
