A Poem by Polly Taylor

You a fish, that swims for dreams
That weaves through reeds of mystery
I am a bull that stands grounded, overlooking
Stubborn, faithful and loyal I watch
The flippant fins of a drowning fish
But to the surface he will succumb
To inhale my presence
As I am the rock that stations him most
Whilst he is frivolous in aqua
Here, life demands the reality of earth

And so together we are the world

Interesting usage of duel imagery in your poem, with the bull (earth) and the fish (water). How people needs a balance of these aspect within themselves. Never would have thought to use these images as you have successful done so in this poem. Provoking thoughts from the reader, instead of merely brushing over the matter. Thank you for sharing this poem with us.

Originally, according to classical Greek mythology humans had four arms, four legs, and a single head made of two faces. Zeus, however, feared their power and split them all in half, condemning them to spend their lives searching for the other half, to complete themselves as one!

Your poetical, metaphoric take on a feeling of deep and natural affinity towards another, conceptually reflects this theme of compatibility.

Beautiful write!
