Back Home

Back Home

A Chapter by Shawn Purcell

Not only is it over

But its starting to get old.

Caught up in what was

Love tried but it lost.

My heart is tired

And your space inside me empty

And you’re watching someone

While he’s fast asleep smiling.

And my soul starts to swell

Then I feel a dull aching

And an need for confirmation.

Tomorrow I’ll be waiting

Chorus

So I’m going back home

To let go and leave behind.

This won’t be enough

But I really tried

So I’m going back home.

It’s a good idea to talk

But I’m already walking

So you better start fast

And don’t miss anything out.

Don’t shout, it’s unbecoming

And don’t lose any sleep

Because I’m cool with it.

Just smooth it over for next.

So by the way, I’m leaving.

Nothing here makes sense.

This is great

But not what I’ve been needing.
