Torn

Torn

A Poem by Shawn Purcell
"

A brand new song, about a really awesome girl...

"

I wrote down all my secrets

And ripped the page in half

In one hand my feelings,

On the other side a plan.

Chorus

Torn

Torn against my self

Torn against the world

Torn against the last thought

That crept into my head.

So much to say

I’m tired of explaining.

A look says it all

I just want to lay

And look up at the stars

Cradled in your arms

Breathing slow and soft

Beneath the light of the moon.

Catch your eye

From the corner

Lean in close and hard

And feel the wet of your lips

Taste every sensation

And go crazy

In that instant

And find my air taken.

Chorus

Torn

Torn against my self

Torn against the world

Torn against the last thought

That crept into my head

Torn

Tearing at my self

Torn up by the world

Torn up by the last thought

Still spinning round my head.

End Chorus/Bridge

Torn

Torn against emotion

My back to the wall

Turn my eyes to you

And listen as you talk.

All the things you want

And all the things you are

I hang in your voice and

In your words I'm lost.

I like it :)
I think it could use another verse, maybe one that alluded to what that last thought was or how he/she is going to get through it. Maybe I am thinking too much instead of just enjoying the song lyrics. By the way what genre of music would you put this to? Keep up the good work, Shawn Purcell.
