How to Avoid Falling in Love With Her Again:

How to Avoid Falling in Love With Her Again:

A Poem by Shawn Purcell

Don’t get nervous

Because she isn’t as beautiful as you think.

At least keep repeating that to yourself

Like a mantra. As many times you told her

How no shade of brown can compare to that of her eyes.

Don’t play with her hair

When she lays her head on your chest.

Try to stay quiet, as you are reminded

Of all the things she did to make you

Fall out of love with her in the first place.

And don’t think about her

Once she’s left your house.

Throw in a movie. One that won’t remind you

Of that night you and her could have been spent

Watching Rob Zombie’s remake of Halloween.
