Ignored

Ignored

A Chapter by Shawn Purcell
"

I met a woman at a clothing store. She was still fighting breast cancer and was recovering from a recent mastectomy. Her biggest concern was that her husband told her she should dress more feminine..

"

Forget about forever,

And all those minutes that have gone.

Holding on for the next one -

No, you’re not wrong.

“Lord, turn these sleepless nights to rest,

Save me from myself again.

Carry me through this season.

I just need a little help.”

Pre Chorus

She says, “I’m crying,

But I'm crawling

Please wake me from this hell

Lie to me

And tell me I’ve been dreaming.”

Tell her how much you love her, and

And what she means here and gone.

Chorus

She’s a saint,

She’s a lover

She’s a lonely girl’s mother

And no one wishes on her star.

And no one kisses her scars,

Or reminds her of her wonder.

Or tells her not to worry.

An empty kiss goodnight,

A cold heart beats beside her.

She’s a stranger to his sympathy.

Looking through the hourglass

At all her hopes and dreams.

And everyone says she’ll be ok,

But she’s scared and alone -

Roaming so far from home.

Pre Chorus 2

She says, “I’ve been trying,

But I'm tripping

Please wake me from this hell

Lie to me

Tell me I’ve been dreaming.

Tell her how much you love her,

Here and gone.

Bridge

And no one wishes on her star.

And no one kisses her scars,

Or reminds her of her wonder.

Or tells her not to worry.
