The Wicker Man

The Wicker Man

A Chapter by Shawn Purcell
"

An allegorical piece...

"

The wicker man says,

“What he says goes.”

The wicker man stops

To talk

To hold

The wicker man says,

“Believe what I believe.”

The wicker cult

The wicker man leads.

Because the wicker man stated,

“It will all be ok. You should have come sooner.”

The wicker man says,

“Do what I say.”

Pulls you deep into his cave.

“Tell me,” he says,

“What have you done wrong?”

The wicker man said,

“I need you to do an errand for me.

Pick up a basket of wicker.

And I’ll give you what you pay.”

The wicker man says,

“There’s no going back,

There’s no going forward.

When the wicker man’s down

When the wicker man slams

The ball bounces on the floor.

The wicker man comes to a hault.

And he says,

“By the door I left it

Next to the umbrella

Give me a second and I’ll get it.

It’s not here

Irts’s not here

Says the wicker man

“Run.”

Says the wicker man,

“Hide from me.

What was that sound

The wicker man screamed,

“There’s wicker in the garden

And wicker in my dreams.”

Cried the wicker man.

He cried in vain

The wicker man, save me

The wicker man way.

Said the wicker man,

“If you’re tired go to sleep.”

The wicker man leads

The wicker man saves

What he came for

And why he should leave
