Don't Worry Honey, I Didn't Write This For Your Benifit...

Don't Worry Honey, I Didn't Write This For Your Benifit...

A Poem by Breanna Ragland

You promised me the truth.
But you never kept your word.
You swore me your love.
And ripped it all away!
You led me down this path...
Hands tied and eyes blind.
You said "were going to a better place."
But you lied.
You shoved me over the edge...
The edge of misconception.
You led me to believe...
That you were all I'd need...
But I saw beyond your fake facade.
I saw who you really were.
Behind you chiseled face of heart...
A demon lies in wait.
Those thoughtful grey eyes,
Hold nothing but lies.
The loving arms that held me tight...
The strong but gentle hands that held mine just right...
Are the ones to blame for all this mess.
The bloody walls and broken mirrors.
The cuts and scars...
The bruises and burns.
You did it all.
I've nowhere to go...
And no one to love.
My face is blue, eyes black, nose bloody.
Life slipping away slowly...
Breathing slowing...
Gone.
You caused this...
You took my life.
You destroyed me...
But as I said, Don't Worry Honey, I Didn't Write This For Your Benifit...
