One More Day, One More Lie

One More Day, One More Lie

A Poem by Breanna Ragland

Take one step back
And then two more forward
The way we act
Will get us nowhere
I live to love
And you love to live
We need a compromise
To keep away this knife
Maybe I don't want forgiveness
I need the hate to survive
It keeps you away
And me alive
Just one more day
Just one more lie
Live like you want
Party till midnight
So when you get home
I'll be out of sight
You become you
While I try to save me
And hide all the bruises
In the darkness of night
Maybe I don't want forgiveness
I need the hate to survive
It keeps you away
And me alive
Just one more day
Just one more lie
They all hear me screaming
But no one sees the truth
They just leave me here
They leave me with you
Maybe I don't need forgiveness
I need their hate to survive
It keeps you away
And me alive
Just one more day
Until I die.

"Wow, you said mine was good." Pfft. This is way better than Blood and Mascara Tears.
