I Pledge Allegiance

I Pledge Allegiance

A Poem by Breanna Ragland

I pledge allegiance
To this land.
I forfeit all freedoms
To the upper hand.
A country broken
Far and wide.
Crumbled by the hands
Of the rich and divine.
What was once a choice,
Is now demand.
Led by hypocrisy, Lies,
Deceit and scams.
We are no longer one nation
Under god.
But instead a society
That' has lost their cause.
So here I stand,
A voiceless face.
In this mess we call
The United States.
