Oliver, The Gathere

Oliver, The Gathere

A Chapter by Punnag
"

Oliver has been having some strange dreams, and suddenly a new girl is seen in his school who changes his life. What is actually going on?

"

As he opened his eyes, He found himself into that dark forest again; He searched his pockets for lighter He usually carried and He couldn’t find it. He tried searching for his cell phone which was apparently missing too. He looked around and HE saw a light coming from some distance. HE started walking towards the light. As He reached near He saw a large camp fire kind of setting. He tried to get a clear view by moving towards it a bit more and  saw an old lady sitting on a log.

The lady was kind off in her 80’s was all dressed up and had a cane stick. She was tending the fire with a stick. He went upto her and introduced himself,“Excuse me ma’am, could you tell me exactly where am I.” She looked at him, her eyes all grey and hazy and said, “Oliver Watts, you need to be careful because he is coming back and he won’t lose this time as he is coming with all his strongest allies.”

He was taken a back at once; even though she was old her voice sounded that of young women. She was all mysterious. How she knew him? Who was coming? How did he get here? All questions were haunting him.

He asked her again, “How do you know me and who is coming back? What is really going on here?”

She continued, “I can’t really tell you everything, only time will tell but maybe not cause time itself is the enemy here. You need to hurry my child. You need to get everyone together before he finds you all.”

She stopped for second and looked behind me and shouted. “Run Oliver ….. Run.”

He woke up with a jolt and looked around. He was in his room and it was just a dream. He heard my alarm go off and He stopped it. He looked at the window, the sun was shining bright it was a clear day. He heard mom shouting my name downstairs. It was his first day after summer vacations to school.

It was a strange dream which he had been getting since the last 2 weeks. He is Oliver Watts, 17, a normal high school kid with no particular special thing about him. His dad is in stock business and mom is a housewife. He was a normal kid until this very day.

He went downstairs my mom still shouting all about how exciting school will be and that he should dress and get ready fast. He ate his breakfast with my dad who was suppose to drive me but had to leave early. He took his jacket, took his bag and phone put on head phones and took a walk instead.

The Westwood High School was like any other high school. It had its entire clique and all its craziness. He never entered any clique nor had any close friends. He was the quiet kid who was mostly invisible and he liked it that way.

So he went and sat at my usual chair at the end of classroom. First class was History by Prof. McAlister. He was one of the few teachers he liked unlike the maths teacher Ms. Dreads and believe me like her name she was dreadful. He didn’t know if it was the subject he hated more or her.

“Class, today we are going to learn about the Greece. But before that he would like all of you to meet a new student.”

A girl entered behind Prof. She had clear blue eyes, blond hair, she looked like some TV actress right from the screen, and she was wearing a pink dress with matching heels and had already made enemies with most other girls in class.

“So, her name is Emma Cain and she is a transfer student here from Starfield High School. Miss Cain why don’t you take a seat next to Mr. Watts and introduce yourself later.”

She came and sat next to Oliver and he totally forgot the history class and stared her most time during the whole class. As soon as class got over he tried to introduce himself,

“Hi! I am Oliver, Oliver Watts. I know you name already so nice to meet you.”

She replied; “Hi! Nice to meet you too Oliver. Kind of nice high school you have got here. Better than my last one at least. It was a total disaster.” And she gave a small laugh. Suddenly as he shook my hands with her he started seeing things in my head and got a bit dizzy.

“Oliver are you okay, you look a bit dizzy to me. Should I get you a glass of water?”

“No its fine just a heat stroke I guess, it will be okay.”

He looked up to her again and again he started seeing some weird Greek symbols. He looked to other people and suddenly he could see some weird box next to each person. It had all their information from their name to their likes and dislikes. He couldn’t understand what was going on.

“Oliver, are you okay? You look kind of lost?” She asked with concern.

He couldn’t just tell her he started seeing things. No one would have believed him. He had to control what was happening. But he was sure it had a connection to the dreams he was getting and to Emma.

“No, no, I’m fine. Can I talk with you about something? Not here, later after school maybe, in the opposite park perhaps.”

“As far as you are not some psychopath who wants to kill me, I’m fine meeting with you.” She giggled again.

So the school ended and Oliver was waiting for Emma outside the gate. She came running towards him and they both entered the park. She chose a nice bench for them.

“So what you wanted to talk to m about?” She asked.

“You remember my dizziness today morning, it wasn’t cause of sun, it was cause of you.” She looked at him stunned, “What do you mean because of me.”

“Have you been getting any weird dreams lately or experienced anything strange in yourself?” He asked her, “I have been getting this weird dream lately where an old lady comes and warns me of something.”

“When we shook hands today morning, I started seeing things, I started getting information of each student just by looking at them. But this doesn’t work on you.”

She looked around if anyone was there and said, “Thank god, I thought I was going crazy, I have been getting strange dreams too but I meet an little girl with bow and arrows in a cave who warns me.”

“About my power I discovered it 2-3 days ago that I can locate any hidden or lost objects. It’s been strange feeling lately.”

Oliver was so relieved that he wansnt the only one, “Lets meet up in library tomorrow to just see if we can relate these things somewhere and until we know what this is don’t tell this to anyone.”

She was relieved too. ‘Ya, sure now I need to leave. Lots of things to unpack. Moving to new place is not easy. See ya, bye.”

Oliver said his good bye and left he felt that now he had hopes to find what he was going through.

Unknown to both Emma and Oliver someone knew what was going on. Someone from the shadows lurked and disappeared again watching them both leave.
