Individuality and Celibacy in the Sahara DesertA Poem by AetherA teenage-reminiscent, equality-infused poem about awesomeness. Read if you want to be wooed. Limited explicit language used.chase your dreams, they say (but not those dreams) be who you are, they say (but not if you’re like that) be an individual, they say (but only if you’re like us) I say, screw them No exceptions, no clauses, no hidden fine print CHASE YOUR DREAMS (no matter what they are you want to go to the moon? do it. you want to be a celibate monk living in the Sahara Desert? why shouldn’t you be? you want to be a stripper? f*****g go for it.) BE WHO YOU ARE (no matter who you are boy, girl, neither, both, other agnostic, muslim, christian, worshipping the church of the flying spaghetti monster nerd, jock, brave, coward, emo trash) BE AN INDIVIDUAL (no matter what a splash of color in a see of black and white a mess of scribbles in a perfect painting stand still in a mob of dancers; dance in a mob of people standing still) imperfection is beauty and LIFE is imperfect and within this imperfection is the most commonly unattainable and unattainably common display of perfection within the world. EMBRACE IT. FLAUNT IT. DANCE WITH IT UNTIL YOUR TOES BLEED. because you are you and there is nothing more perfectly horrendous and awfully wonderful in the world. let no one tell you otherwise.
