A Breached Wall

A Breached Wall

A Poem by Punchinello

When they were seeking sanctuary I became their wall.
When they were taking cover I became their wall.
I did brave all their enemies tearing holes into me.

But the day I needed them to heal my wounds, they left me ruined.
They left me haunted by their past.

So I leaned on to her, to rest.
A breached wall opened up. So vulnerable. So out of balance.
She stepped aside.

A breached wall fell in.
