A Walk in Deep Green Wood

A Walk in Deep Green Wood

A Poem by Samuel Dickens
"

Which way do I go?

"

Two roads there were in deep green wood

I knew not which to choose

So I scratched my groggy head

And took a shot of booze

Left or right, I didn’t know

But wanted to be fair

And so that whiskey bottle

I tossed into the air

It landed pointing somewhat left

And gave so-so direction

To the path that was the best

Or close enough, I reckon

Stumbling down that grassy way

I fired up my ol’ bong

But when I saw the zombie horde

I knew I'd chosen wrong

Hey, you zombies, go away

And do not eat my brain

I meant to take the other path

Not dead meat lover's lane

A gruesome dinner, I became

And soon the lights went off

I swear the one who ate the most

Looked like Robert Frost

I don't know what's wrong with me. Too much Monty Python, I guess.

Well Sam you brought both Monty Python and Robert Frost to the fore with this write. I am a fan of both. So faced with that division in the road and not being sure which direction to take, a swig of the hard stuff helps? I enjoyed this zombie write and it's gruesomeness :)

ZOMBIES: YET ANOTHER DANGER OF THE DEMON WEED!!!

Sam, you don't show your bizarre side nearly often enough. Always weirded out (but in a good way!) whenever you do!

robert frost eh? lol.

Seems more like an updated version of "The Lady or The Tiger" ala twilight.....

It's got a good beat, you can dance to it. Writing always takes us to places we sometimes don't expect, but write we must. It's a good change of pace and quite entertaining and maybe that's the whole point.
Fun stuff.
