I wrote this in April of 2010, and now it's a year later. When I walked outside with my cup of coffee this early morning, there on the same mailbox was a bird singing its heart out. I wonder--could it be the same one?

First, I need an update. Was it the same one.? Anyway, I too; enjoy watching our local birds (including the ornithological kind). Their patterns of movement, behavioural differences between different species; and those who sing in their own unique ways. Occasionally, I have even witnessed them squabbling; jostling one another for food (from our wooden bird table). Your poem rhymes nicely too, and I hope that your morning routine continues to be as calm and pleasantly predictable; as depicted here. Thanks for sharing.!

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! This is so well-written & the message really speaks to me. Great rhythm & rhyme, as well as nice word choices & vivid details. This describes my every morning & why I can't wait to get out of bed! *smile*
Thank you. The early morning singers are in fine form today, also.

Why do I worry about such things & then I realized I just wanted to read this one again becuz of the title, which is fitting for these last fledgling days of April. This is a very enjoyable word portrait of the things I love about springtime here! (((HUGS)))
I could clearly imagine that little one's song, after having been transported by your words to that place, and time. Thank you for the beautiful experience :)

Thank you, Renee. Yes, I imagine Eden is full of beautiful songbirds.
This is my kind of poetry .. I love my little blessed bird friends .. they comfort me often .. Hope you don't mind, here is one I wrote some time back ..
There is snow on the ground
I see the tracks of little feet
A sign that a few chose not to leave
And I smile for what you do ..
What sweeter comfort
Could you have sent ..
As the sunlight wanes
And the night draws near ..

There was a pic of a little song bird attached ..
This is perfectly delightful Sam .. I love it .. Thank you .. .

You are welcome Sam .. and Yes they surely do .. :)
This is beautiful Sam. Nothing better for the soul than birdsong :) Today I was monitoring my bluebird boxes and heard a lovely song and it was a Rufous sided Towhee. Only the 2nd one I have ever seen. And I have pictures of it now too! :) Thanks for the lovely reminder of spring and the birds.
