A Boy's Secret

A Boy's Secret

A Poem by Puck

Have you ever noticed
How your smile perplexes
Even your own reflection?
With the look of a child
With a guarded secret
The satiated eyes of a cat
Who has more than one human
Feeding him milk and honey
Your face veiled by an ethereal stare
Your gaze clairvoyant
Peering beyond the soul
To galaxies invisible yet connected to us
You look and no one notices
You smile and people wonder
What makes a man smile to himself
A smile irreproachable
As if a boy has succeeded in keeping
A secret

Men smile for deeds wished to be done or great beauty near. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Hi Puck, I really enjoyed this piece. You have made me intrigued with this boy, and this has created significant cognitive dissonance as it conflicts with my self perceptions. Well done. I think!

Great last line! And enigmatic in a way that makes you want to know more about what the thoughts are and where they come from. It leaves you wondering which I really appreciate.
