Misery

Misery

A Poem by Dave Solis

Hell is the bottom of the road im on,
of violence and death and hate.
I have no fear and I feel no pain,
as I enter the fiery gates.
The road is long and the path unclear,
The darkness so thick I can't even hear.
My brain is ablaze but I have no soul,
To end the misery is my life long goal.
The line is drawn and re drawn again,
I keep stepping over but there is no end.
I finally met the devil and I laughed in his face,
I said I bet you can't dish or more than I can take.
It didn't stop there it kept getting worse,
Still I endured it while it still hurt.
Then I went numb to the feelings,
Shut off all the pain,
An egotistical pig ,
With nothing to gain.
What's wrong with the world why won't it just stop,
I thought hell was the bottom , it's really the top.
