Not Instead But In Lieu

A Poem by Pete

A man does best when he is most himself. - Thoreau

"
Free Fingerprint-stained glass Image ...

when the wheels come all the way off
when your name is nothing but a cough
when you need but don't realize the cost
when there's no 'found' and only a 'lost'

when you've only got one slipper and one shoe
when all your credit cards are overdue and you don't know what to do
when you're standing in a long line, you finally get to the window and someone asks, "who the hell are you"
when you haven't the first damned clue
