Heartache Jailbreak

Breaking Out Of Prison Stock Photos ...

i'm tired of the ups and downs of this patchwork quilt
tired of walking around with a crooked cane and an uneven stilt
i need a jailbreak
from this hung jury, self convicting prison i've built

if only in my mind
rid me of this guilt
free me to the hilt
before the sun comes up tomorrow
and my soul is doomed to wilt

Author's Note

Pete
"Why the jailer does not leave open his prison doors,--why the judge does not dismiss his case,--why the preacher does not dismisshis congregation! It is because they do not obey the hint God gives them, nor accept the pardon which he freely offers to all." - Thoreau

They don't leave the prison open because it is punishment and punishment does not work if it is not admonished. The pardon God gives is eternal life through belief in his Son which we don't deserve but is a free gift from our Father, the Creator of ALL.
**I like your poem. We all feel that way at times, Pete. Life sucks. BUT you have another mountain peak coming and you will feel like soaring! I promise!
