Long Life, Short Memory

Long Life, Short Memory

A Poem by Pete
"

It is only when we forget all our learning that we begin to know. - Thoreau

Why do we need a sex-friendly mattress ...

it's been so long since i've had sex
i'm not sure if i remember what goes where
or how to tell the front from the back on women's, dental floss underwear
let alone what became of my thick, jet black, wavy hair

at least i have my bifocal specs
along with faded memories of my ex
a couple of torn, bounced checks
and in my back pocket, a dusty, old, frayed packet of latex
