like a bearded lady

a painted clown

a snake charmer

with bare feet and a spent youth

i walk on broken dreams

shards of hope swinging on a trapeze

pieces of faith trying not to fall from a high wire

eating fire of sins

swallowing swords of disappointments

trying to tame lions of heartache

telling fortunes with only knowledge of the past

maybe i should save myself the time

and join the circus now

or grow thicker skin anyhow

Maybe it's growing up hearing songs. Everything sounds like a poem.
Let me give you a short sample of my life: I was given away by my mother. My step grandfather raped me from birth till 10 years old. I got pregnant and abandoned at 13. Every guy that fell in love with me has died tragically. AND Lots Of Stuff In Between!...BUT GOD provides me every meal and always leftovers. I pay all my bills with a little money left over to save for the future...My funeral has already been paid by me a little at a time throughout my life. (Cremation is cheapest)...So GOOD things DO happen!

not sure what to say about your background - that's rough. we have to find a way to rise above our pasts or they will hold us down. the bible says that god has a purpose in everything he allows. annie lennox is very talented for sure.
