Gonna Be Some Changes Made

Gonna Be Some Changes Made

A Poem by Pete
"

Happiness is like a butterfly: the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it comes and sits softly on your shoulder. - Thoreau

Welcome to the Chrysalis Economy | Trellis

tarnished fork and rusty spoon
we went walking on the moon
polychromatic chrysalis suspended upside down from a green shoot of love
strong push come to a nudging shove
like all good things
happening from heaven above
roses, honey and sugar sweet

we danced into eternity
on a musical street
with weak knees and terpsichorean feet
she a sweet, fluttering robin
me a 're-pete'
time to lift the shade
peel away the band aid
mend that which has too long been frayed
there's gonna be some changes made

"You think that I am impoverishing myself withdrawing from men, but in my solitude I have woven for myself a silken web or chrysalis, and, nymph-like, shall ere long burst forth a more perfect creature, fitted for a higher society. - Thoreau

In life I believe we are much like caterpillars morphing and evolving constantly from the lesson and blessings we have learned along the way. I’m always trying to be a better version of myself for as we all are, I am flawed.

I love the wording and the phrasing in this poem to convey that exact idea.
