Glacial FacialA Poem by PeteIn winter we lead a more inward life. - Thoreauthe millpond is frozen its water hard like the bricks and granite that surround it ducks have taken to congregating at its center a very small hole there, still allowing minimal access to the water they sit, huddled around it as the wind howls like a werewolf whistling a mournful, sorry tune it's cold so cold no one offers them a blanket no one hugs them no one invites them in it's cold so cold just so dumbfounding cold you can feel the world's frigid sin where do i begin nothing to do but take it take it on the chin 'til someone decides to let us in © 2025 PeteAuthor's Note
