"A thrumming of piano-strings beyond the gardens and through the elms. At length the melody steals into my being. I know not when it began to occupy me. By some fortunate coincidence of thought or circumstance I am attuned to the universe, I am fitted to hear, my being moves in a sphere of melody, my fancy and imagination are excited to an inconceivable degree. This is no longer the dull earth on which I stood." - Thoreau

read an article recently about the human brain - said there were places in the brain specific to senses like hearing, speech, sight, but no singular area related to music - that all the areas of the brain contribute to our enjoyment, involvement, creating of music - also said man was the only creature that makes music - I thought about the birds or the so called song of whales - but I seem to think that more talking than singing regardless of what it sounds like to us . I don't know. it was interesting - I do believe in the music of the spheres ( celestial universe so to speak ) Pythagoras had a bit to say about that. seems your quote by Thoreau would be saying the same thing. Enjoyed your piece glad I came by -carl

Living in the moment springs to mind with this write while the music in the background may not necessarily be our choice but life goes on.

I love reading, writing, music, nature, God and feeling emotion, not necessarily in that order. To me, these things go hand in hand. My favorite writer is Henry David Thoreau. I think he was a geni.. more..
