Wind of Change (Ravin' Ink Group Submission for 1/18 - Wind)

A Poem by Pete
"

First, there is the power of the wind, constantly exerted over the globe... Here is an almost incalculable power at our disposal, yet how trifling the use we make of it. - Thoreau

"
St. Luke's Episcopal Church

... and it blew
huffing and puffing
ripping, swirling and stuffing
in a strange sort of even exchange

thank god for the wind
it sweeps up broken pieces of yesterday
and more importantly
it knows where to look for loose change

"In short, as a snow-drift is formed where there is a lull in the wind, so, one would say, where there is a lull of truth, an institution springs up." - Thoreau
