"A thrumming of piano-strings beyond the gardens and through the elms. At length the melody steals into my being. I know not when it began to occupy me. By some fortunate coincidence of thought or circumstance I am attuned to the universe, I am fitted to hear, my being moves in a sphere of melody, my fancy and imagination are excited to an inconceivable degree. This is no longer the dull earth on which I stood." - Thoreau

I love Jimi. I got a few real favorites by him though. I like Crosstown Traffic and Dolly Dagger, Red House and Hey Joe. But I like almost all his music. Jimi was a class act, sad he got off on the dope. Him and Clapton were really tight. Clapton said in an interview he was tired of hearing people try to talk bad about Jimi because he knew him and was a close friend. I have "Are You Experienced" in my CD collection. He sounded a lot better than Dylan doing Dylan's All Along the Watchtower. I actually learned to play Hey Joe on a mandolin once upon a time. It was the coolest thing and fun. I don't remember this song though so thanks for that. I enjoyed the read.

You paint a great picture here in words. I see Clapton playing. I hear him too and years ago went to see him when he was in Cream. Right up close I was, dancing next to the stage. A memory that will forever stay. Much enjoyed your senryu. And Hendrix was great too, ‘cept never saw him play.

A world without music would almost be as dull as a world without poetry. We are wealthy with both:)

Jimi Hendrix, was amazing. I always enjoyed Clapton from his "Cream" years and his solo years.

YET, Lucifer was a beautiful musical instrument played before God. I think ANYTHING can be used for evil as well as good, don't you, Pete? It's all in how we view it, right?
(I might've forgot to 'rate' the previous one. I didn't mean to. Sorry.)
I love reading, writing, music, nature, God and feeling emotion, not necessarily in that order. To me, these things go hand in hand. My favorite writer is Henry David Thoreau. I think he was a geni.. more..
