Boogie Chillen

Boogie Chillen

A Poem by Pete
"

The music of all creatures has to do with their loves, even of toads and frogs. Is it not the same with man? - Thoreau

"

as another spent night takes off its dark sunglasses
folks fill the hall like patients in a doctor's office waiting for heart bypasses
i begin a thrillin', boogie chillen, january day with a song
hoping it'll carry me all day long
light dusting of snow atop the hill, a white fedora
melody igniting my world with an electric auoroa
encircling band, sporting a red bird's feather
oblivious to cold weather
rap-tapping, bleached shoes
stirring breeze of a piano paying its dues

music for the masses
complete with free back stage passes
my swaying soul never alone
i can even play it on my cell phone
cooler than cool
mama didn't raise no fool
carried 'pon in-and-out breaths of a soothing harmonica
beautiful and fragrant like flowering veronica
thick and sweet as blue molasses

Music can get us through the long days of work or really any situation. It can make us dance to conjure up sad memories or make us smile at happy moments gone by.

Nicely and creatively done.
