Feel The Wheel

Feel The Wheel

A Poem by Re-Pete
"

The soul grows by subtraction, not addition. - Thoreau

"
19th Century Sandstone Mill Stone Wheel ...

there's a place
dank and cold with a big sandstone wheel
masses stride around it
in the wrong direction
grinding
never finding

rain falls like filings of steel
no one can think or feel
walking dead
if only in their head
no one shuffles before they deal
no one oils the incessant squeal

The daily grind of life doesn’t have to be like that it’s the matrix that has made us this way. We need to think Much more deeper and more independently away from the media the crowds and the spinning wheel of just existing and working It’s not our fault it’s all been laid out for us to do it way before we are born
Do this do that. Etc.

I liked this it was very deep

Good life lessons here; must navigate its myriad intricacies. Some make it with or without help, others don't.

Wow! HNY to you and your muse.
life should not be a grinding wheel, a hum drum kind of life..we all have the opportunity to live life by our own choice…. we don’t have to do what the masses do, we can be unique…. we need to think about what our path should be, not follow, but lead and experiment….move on from the ordinary and seek anew…..
Warmly, B🌷

thank you dylan.
This was an interesting read. Looks like an old mill stone in the pic. I have visited a few old water mills in our state that still grind corn and meal. Ours don't have any parts that require oiling though, just sluice troughs and catch latches, timbers and stone. One place here also has pecan trees and a pecan sheller in the mill so they sell shelled pecans as well as local jams, jellies etc.
