Another Rider On The Storm

Another Rider On The Storm

A Poem by Pete
"

Our sadness is not sad, but our cheap joys. - Thoreau

"
How do you know if its depression?

a clicking, popping, hopping, locust swarm
judging and incarcerating like another rider on the storm
darkening my door
screwing me over and taking my means like an addicted, crack w***e
stealthily coming like a thief in the night
toting sadness and delivering its burdening plight
sinking and clouding sky
a spanish inquisition with no obvious reason why
coercing faith and twisting its arm to lie

blocking the moon and shrouding the sun
stealing joy and denying fun
filling the sky with damning, gray clouds
placing me in confinement with lonesome crowds
not caring what i wear
placing hopelessness 'pon my lips and causing me to swear
ruffling what's left of my bald hair
unpleasant odor and clinical smell
just leave already and go back to hell
