Sultans of Swing

Sultans of Swing

A Poem by Pete
"

The sea-shore is a sort of neutral ground, a most advantageous point from which to contemplate this world. It is hard to forget that which it is worse than useless to remember. - Thoreau

"
Pittsburgh's Sultan of Dance ...

windows down
tires rollin'
breeze blowin'
radio crankin'
offkey, youthful voices singin'

i remember the sizzlin', summer days
headin' for the coast
beach towels wrapped 'round our spirited heads
knowin' everything
because we were sultans of swing

"Many a forenoon have I stolen away, preferring to spend thus the most valued part of the day; for I was rich, if not in money, in sunny hours and summer days, and spent them lavishly." - Thoreau

Love Dire Straits Pete. Particularly Sultans of Swing. Love your snapshot memory here. So joyful. Takes me back a few years for sure. Happy Thanksgiving Day for tomorrow.
