Truth Be Told

I came into this world, not chiefly to make this a good place to live in, but to live in it, be it good or bad. - Thoreau

Dancing The Shackles Free | FAOGW

pardon my head that's grown too big and thick
excuse my eclectic choice of music
have mercy 'pon me god
don't think of my supplication as odd
let the demons stand and applaud
as i'm stuck in this wrinkly, old bod'

please let me grow gracefully old
allow me to keep dancing with both feet in the fold
remove these shackles of gold
dry my tears of mold
before my bones are auctioned and sold
i find clemency in the least likely places
as fingers of faith tighten their grip and bolster their hold
truth be told
