Icicles And Miracles

Icicles And Miracles

A Poem by Pete
"

To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible. - Thomas Aquinas

"
Boulders,desert,waterfall,water,texture ...

alone
lost in the wilderness
i don't know the way
stones aren't bread
water doesn't pour forth from a rock
no restful slumber, no pillow of clover
oh, when will this unexpected frost be over

what is it that the good book saith
not by sight but by faith
where the rubber meets the road
where he shoulders the load
where a staff struck a rock and abundant water flowed
here, on the straight, narrow and lonely road

Author's Note

Pete
"Faith is the bird that feels the light when the dawn is still dark. If fear is cultivated it will become stronger, if faith is cultivated it will achieve mastery. When you focus on being a blessing, God makes sure that you are always blessed in abundance." - Thoreau

When times are darkest it is then that our faith is called on. If we believe in ourselves, we will be successful. If we believe we can do something, we will do it. Faith is truly a very necessary ingredient in the bread of life and you have captured that superbly in this poem, Pete. The first verse leads the leader out of the desert of need into the abundance produced by faith in the second stanza. Like this poem very much, Pete. It is finely inked and illustrated with visual detail which supports and enhances the words. Lovely work! Thank you for sharing, Pete...
