Knit One Purl Two oil on canvas painting by R Gregory Summers

talk dirty to me
tell me boldfaced lies
brighten my cloudy skies
sprinkle it on my french fries
wear it as a brilliant disguise
make it rain emotion in my eyes
use it to fertilize my grave when my body dies
lift me up as you dance naked in jubilation,
while hidden parts of me arise

write it down and send it to me in a letter
the more bemired the better
'cuz i don't know how to knit a sweater
to keep me warm this winter
to extract my soul's splinter
i loved you
despite having no clue
i need you
knit one purl two

I feel a lot of need and warmth in this poem... a bit of melancholy as well.... there is rhythm woven in every line.... life is too short to hurry along ....one needs a nice even pace to enjoy life's benefits...
i feel a bit of passion as well...." i loved you...I need you"..... the rhyming is stunning and i love the painting
nicely crafted Pete
Warmly, B
