Fourth Dimension

Fourth Dimension

A Poem by Pete
"

As if you could kill time without injuring eternity. - Thoreau

"
brain creates the fourth dimension ...

standing at the edge
reaching out in thin air
trying to get as much as i can
cradling and fondling
groping and caressing
petting
holding and hoarding
grabbing and clawing
stuffing it into endless, bottomless pockets of lint for tomorrow

carrying a worn, torn, handled bag of takeout
i take a giant leap
it's rough and tough
wouldn't you know
no matter what i do, there's never enough
of this oh so precious stuff

“Time is but the stream I go a-fishing in. I drink at it; but while I drink I see the sandy bottom and detect how shallow it is. Its thin current slides away, but eternity remains.” - Thoreau
